Chris Gardner was dealt a ‘life card’ of a childhood marred by a violent stepfather constantly pounding into his head that he is nothing but scum and being black, only knowing what he knows about life from the neighbourhood he lives in… how does he turn his life around?
While the rendition of Chris Gardner’s story in the movie The Pursuit of Happyness is only a small depiction of the final chapters in the book, the theme of survival, resilience, family and charity no doubt resonated with movie viewers and readers alike. Read the rest of this entry »
